When I typed my name x z shao

By X. Z. Shao

When I typed my name x z shao,
I forgot to swift to English input,
three Chinese characters appeared on my screen:
雪在烧, “the snow is burning”.
What a nice poetic line
beyond my wildest whim.
My eyes were glued to it,
so I wrote it down.
My mind returns to it over and over again.
Am I the snow burning?
Or I will make the snow burn?
Is it a revelation to me by chance?
Or I was made to try this improbability?
As I ponder,
my eyes wells.
Can you see a forest of snow candles
light up the night sky,
and their white tears drop
like the milk from the sea
of the deepest turmoil
and the maddest ecstasy?
